Join the Chamber and more than 350 area professionals on March 12, 2015 from 7 – 9 am for breakfast, networking, a fantastic keynote speaker, and salutes! The March event is sponsored by Fidelity Bank and is hosted by the Beechwood Hotel, 363 Plantation Street in Worcester. Networking begins at 7 am with coffee followed by a hearty buffet breakfast at 7:30 am. The program begins at approximately 7:45 am with chief greeter Kevin O’Sullivan, president of MBI who will present the morning’s salutes.

Guest speaker for the event is Karyn Polito, the newly elected Massachusetts lieutenant governor.

Karyn began her public service in local government, serving as a member of the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen. In 2001, Karyn was elected a State Representative of the 11th Worcester District (Shrewsbury and Westborough) for five terms.

Karyn was a leading advocate for the passage of “Jessica’s Law,” a bill which would establish tough mandatory minimum sentences for child sex offenders.

Karyn worked to secure increases in local aid, Chapter 70 school aid, Special Education aid, and Special Education transportation aid, as well as for local grant funding to reduce the strain on local budgets. Karyn advocated for a safer Commonwealth by filing legislation in a number of key areas: cracking down on drunk drivers, requiring defibrillators in public schools, and strengthening the experience requirements for young drivers. She has also worked hard to promote jobs and economic development, especially encouraging young people to explore careers in science and technology.

Karyn Polito is a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury, where she owns and operates a commercial real estate development firm and lives with her husband and two young children.

The program adjourns at 9 am.

The cost to attend is $35 for Chamber members and $55 for non-Chamber members. A table of ten is available for $325.
