Worcester, MA, -The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the promotion of Michael Kane to Director of Economic Development and Public Policy.
Since joining the Chamber in 2023 as an intern while completing his senior year at the College of the Holy Cross, Kane has demonstrated exceptional leadership, policy insight, and a deep commitment to advancing the region’s economic vitality. After transitioning into the role of Economic Development and Public Policy Associate, he quickly became an integral part of the Chamber’s advocacy efforts at both the state and local levels.
In his new role as Director, Kane will continue to lead the Chamber’s public policy initiatives, working closely with state and local legislative delegations, municipal leaders, and business stakeholders to champion policies that support economic growth and strengthen the region’s business climate.
Kane currently leads the Chamber’s Business & Government Forum and Healthcare Roundtables, convening industry leaders and policymakers to address critical issues impacting the Worcester region. He has served as the Chamber’s liaison to the Worcester Regional Food Hub, a separate 501c3 entity, helping advance food access, supply chain coordination, and regional economic development initiatives.
In addition, Kane will assume the role of Interim Coordinator of the Worcester Green Corps, further expanding his leadership in workforce development and sustainability-focused programming. Kane is currently enrolled at Suffolk University Law School, where he is pursuing his Juris Doctor degree.
“Michael’s growth within our organization reflects both his talent and his dedication to the Worcester business community,” said Timothy Murray, President and CEO of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. “His leadership across policy, economic development, and community initiatives has already made a meaningful impact, and we are confident he will continue to drive results in this expanded role.”
