Building on the success of the inaugural event, Woostapreneurs connects budding entrepreneurs with resources to start and grow their business.

WORCESTER – Today the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced they will co-sponsor the second annual Woostapreneurs Forum on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 8 am to noon. The event will be held at Worcester State University and admission is free.

The Forum connects Greater Worcester to the entrepreneurship ecosystem and business resource providers in Central Massachusetts. The conference is designed for existing business owners, budding entrepreneurs, veteran and millennial entrepreneurs, women-owned businesses, and other underserved entrepreneurs in search of business help. A panel of business success stories, a resource panel discussion, and networking opportunities will complement keynote speaker John W.S. Creedon, Jr., Vice President of Creedon & Co., and Owner of the Worcester Bravehearts who will share his own entrepreneurial story.

“Growing up in a family business has been an invaluable experience and formed the person I am today,” stated Creedon. “I’m grateful to the Chamber and the SBA for hosting this event and I’m honored to be part of the forum. I look forward to sharing with other entrepreneurs what’s involved in launching, fostering, and growing a small business – including overcoming adversity. This topic is vital to our community and families recognizing that small businesses are the engine of our economy and chief job creators in Worcester and the region.”

“Given the success of last year’s event we are pleased to partner with the SBA once again to present the Woostapreneurs Forum to help foster new business growth and development,” said Timothy P. Murray, president and CEO of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We strive to provide quality education opportunities and services to our members and the business community as a whole. Budding entrepreneurs and new, small businesses are important and we want to ensure that they have access to the information they need to succeed.”

“During May each year, we honor local small businesses and celebrate National Small Business Week along with the entire country – to highlight the significant contributions that entrepreneurs make to the Commonwealth’s economy. We are excited to be partnering again with the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce,” said SBA MA District Director Bob Nelson. “This event is intended to be one way of recognizing small businesses, by providing an opportunity to network with lenders and economic development organizations and also to provide an opportunity to learn about the many programs and resources to help small businesses to start and grow.”

The conference will take place at Worcester State University, in the Blue Lounge and North South Room in the Student Center. There is no cost to attend the conference and all are welcome.
