On behalf of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, I would like to congratulate Dr. David McManus on his recent appointment as Chancellor of UMass Chan Medical School.
As an alum of the medical school, Dr. McManus understands the important role that UMass Chan plays in both the Central Massachusetts economy and the healthcare well-being of area residents. His work as a practicing cardiologist within the UMass Memorial Health Care system also bodes well for an enhanced level of collaboration and partnership with UMass Memorial Healthcare, which is critical to the future of Central Massachusetts.
I would also like to thank UMass President Marty Meehan, Search Chair David Brunelle, and the UMass Board of Trustees for ensuring that the viewpoints of Worcester and the Central Massachusetts region were included in this process.
