The Breakfast Club

Millennials (Adults between the ages of 22-38) are the largest generation in the workforce. The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce understands the importance attracting and retaining this generation to our region. We identified 10 events to be a part of the #Elevate campaign, including the Young Professionals Night Out. We will have two of these events in 2020. One on Thursday, January 9, at Fuel America. The second Young Professionals Night Out will be in August in partnership with the Corridor9 young professionals.

The Chamber of Commerce produces Worcester’s Annual Independence Day Celebration with partners, Discover Central Massachusetts and the City of Worcester. Each year, we get thousands of spectators for this amazing display. This annual tradition incurs many costs such as fees of the professional pyrotechnics firm that puts on the show, as well as police detail, entertainment, insurance, and permit fees. We look to our sponsors to help make this FREE City event a continued success.

StartUp Worcester

StartUp Worcester is an important initiative of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce strategy to incubate new business. We partner with The Venture Forum, and Worcester Clean Tech Incubator to launch and to provide support as well as space for the region’s young entrepreneurs. On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, prior to National Business Week, the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Small Business Administration are connecting greater Worcester to the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem for the 5th annual Woostapreneur’s Forum.

Worcester Youth Leadership Institute

The Worcester Youth Leadership Institute (WYLI) offers students a seven-week learning experience and exposure for 25 youth to a variety of businesses, Worcester landmarks, and mentors.  The Institute, which will begin the week of July 6, is part of a broader effort by the Chamber of Commerce to develop and mentor Worcester’s future leaders. The program is free for the participants and in fact most students come from the YouthWorks program and attend the program during work hours and are paid for their time.

Worcester Women’s Leadership Conference | May 7

Our 11th annual Worcester Women’s Leadership Conference, which will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at the DCU Center, and attracts hundreds of women to connect, learn from one another, and cultivate meaningful business partnerships. We will have over 700 women attend the conference, along with 70 exhibitors, and high-impact keynote and workshop speakers.
