The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the launch of an almost month-long advertising blitz across the New England region using a new TV commercial which dubs Worcester “the place to visit, to invest, and to call home.”

The 30-second commercial, which can be seen here, will run on a number of stations in the Boston-Manchester-Worcester, Providence, and Springfield markets. Shortened versions, including a 15-second commercial, will also air.

Produced by Pagano Media and with support from Discover Central Massachusetts, the commercials celebrate many attributes of the Heart of the Commonwealth — from the thriving life sciences industry, several higher education institutions, and strong health care systems; to the world-class arts and entertainment offerings, professional sports teams, unique dining experiences, and diverse population.

The decision to produce a TV commercial was initially made because of the Chamber’s position as an official founding partner of the Worcester Red Sox. Through that partnership, the 30-second slot will air on New England Sports Network (NESN) when the Triple-A affiliate team’s inaugural season games are being broadcast.

The Chamber’s significant ad buy, which will further extend the commercial’s reach across various stations in New England, was influenced by the desire to attract people to Worcester and Central Massachusetts as the COVID-19 pandemic begins to wind down, vaccination rates rapidly climb, and more restrictions are lifted.

“Not only did we want the commercials to air leading up to the Worcester Red Sox’ debut on May 11, but as the economy starts to recover from the pandemic and families across the region think about their spring and summer plans and how they’ll spend their discretionary dollars, we want Worcester to be top of mind,” said Timothy P. Murray, president and CEO of the Worcester Chamber.

“As an advocate for the region’s business community, we think these commercials can really sell the area as a true destination point and remind New Englanders of all their second-largest city has to offer. Furthermore, we want to make sure that business decision-makers look at Worcester as they contemplate how to position their companies in the ‘new normal’ workforce environment – whatever that may look like,“ said Mr. Murray.

The commercials will air from Monday, April 19, until Wednesday, May 12.
